Sand Mountains: Salta, Argentina

The dry mountains of Salta, Argentina look like ironed silk cloths fallen over jagged rocks. The photograph can capture a piece of the crumpled laminations, but the landscape curves and ricochets around bends like a shifting labyrinth, tempting the photographer to creep along without taking his eye from the lens. These sand mountains are shiftier than some dunes.
