Mountains in Salta, Argentina

For such a dry landscape, Salta manages to impress and impose in the biggest ways. The sand colored landscape usually gives way to layered mountains of rainbow colors that explode into the expansive Salta skies at odd angles. This is a still life photo in the most straightforward sense, because although it is a living, shifting landscape the silence and vastness make it seem incredibly still and somehow unreal.
