Although it was too cold to swim on this beach in Nova Scotia, Canada, there was still plenty to look at and photograph. This photo shows the strange, unexpected meeting of uncompromising hilly lands and the sea. Wildflowers and boreal trees look over the water as it laps both rocky and sandy beaches.
