Maroon Bells: Colorado

Wildflowers and trees creep up the slopes of the Maroon Bells in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, covering the crumbling mountains with a green blanket of summer wilderness. The lush scenery seen in this photo hasn’t prevented the Bells from being nicknamed the “Deadly Bells” for the unstable rock the mountains are composed of and their record of fatalities.
