| Cerro Fitzroy: El Chalten, Patagonia, Argentina
The sharp mountain peak that pierces the sky in the background of this photo is the well known and mountaineering averse Cerro Fitzroy of El Chalten, Argentina. Although it is not as high as the trophy mountains like Everest, for example, it presents incredible technical and psychological challenges – the Patagonia weather, for one. The winds were so intense when this photo was taken that the photographer could hardly snap a photo, practically levitating above the ground on a matt of high gales.
